Roof insurance coverage, explained

Editorial Policy

These are the standards behind every page on Roof Insurance Guides.

Accuracy

  • Facts, figures and standards come from primary sources, which we cite
  • We do not publish invented statistics, reviews, testimonials or credentials
  • Every page shows the date it was last updated

Independence and disclosure

Guides are written to help you make your own decision, whoever you hire. We do not accept payment to recommend a product, a system or a contractor, and no page here is sponsored.

Our insurance content is general information and not legal, financial or insurance advice. We explain policy wording, and we inspect and document roofs. Where an owner needs somebody to act for them on a claim, we introduce them to a partner who is a licensed public adjuster or an attorney in their state, described by the license held and never named on the page. We claim no license of our own and we promise no outcome. Your policy and your carrier always decide what is covered.
